WebSearch will search for Library and Information Services Web
documents containing a specified word or words. Multiple words
can be combined to form a search expression. Library and Information
Services includes Lovejoy Library, Academic Computing, and Audio Visual
Services.
Search Expressions
Use and to search for documents containing two or more specified words. If you enter multiple words and no conjunction, WebSearch assumes you mean and. For example, industry and construction.
Use or to search for documents containing one or both of the specified words. For example, biology and cell or protoplasm.
Use ( ) to search for for documents containing the words in parentheses first and then containing the words in the rest of the expression. Otherwise, search expressions are evaluated from left to right. For example, renaissance and (dante or cervantes).
Use not to search for documents containing one or more words but not another word. For example, cheese not swiss.
Use * to search for documents containing various forms of a word. Note that * can be used only at the end of a word. For example, book* will find book, books, bookstore, etc.
